Laura Atwood, PCC, ACPC serves as President of Adler School of Coaching (Adler Learning USA) in Phoenix, offering a highly acclaimed International Coach Federation (ICF) Accredited coach training program. Adler School of Professional Coaching is one of the only accredited programs in the world with a specialty focus on workplace coaching skills. The school, with offices in Phoenix, Toronto and around the globe, was honored through ICF’s PRISM Award for outstanding organizational development through coaching.
A graduate of Adler School of Professional Coaching and of Adler’s ParentCoaching program, Laura earned the ICF credential of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and draws on her diverse background in dispute resolution, anthropology, nonprofit management, visual arts, and parent education to enrich and inform her coaching. She also serves as Director of Adler’s Interpersonal Coaching program, which integrates coaching with Adlerian principles to help people develop mutually respectful and encouraging relationships.
Laura is active in service to the coaching profession. She has been a champion of professionalism in coaching globally as Co-Chair of the Regulatory Committee of ICF (International Coach Federation) and as a facilitator in ICF's Ethical Conduct Review process. She is a Past-President of the Greater Phoenix ICF Chapter. Laura is one of the five organizers of a global forum on the future of coaching, drawing together 50 of the top minds in the profession for an international think tank event held in Vancouver in August 2006. She is President of ACTO (Association of Coach Training Organizations), a global organization of distinguished coach training companies, collaborating as a dynamic community of peers on the leading edge of training excellence and innovation to ensure the highest standards for the coaching profession.
Laura is also a professional mediator, with experience in both civil and family and divorce mediation. In addition to her work with Adler School of Professional Coaching, Laura’s private practice, Laura R. Atwood & Associates, provides a blended offering of coaching, mediation, conflict resolution systems design, and facilitation services. Laura served on the board of directors of MCAFM (Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators) and MADRA (Maricopa Alternative Dispute Resolution Association). She is also an active member of AACR (Arizona Association for Conflict Resolution), NASAP (North American Association of Adlerian Psychology), ASTD (American Society for Training and Development), VSHRA (Valley of the Sun Human Resources Association), and ACTO (Association of Coach Training Organizations).
